はじめまして！
イタリア人と日本人の夫婦で、小樽で小さなクラフトワインショップを営んでいます。

毎日寒いですね。
私たちの住む小樽では12月の終わりに大雪が降り、その後はそれが溶けたりまた雪が積もったり…。今日は道が凍ってツルツルになっているので、滑って転ぶ確率かなり大です（笑）
ところで、もうTaru Labをご存知の方もいらっしゃるかとは思いますが、初めてという方にまずは自己紹介させてくださいね。
Taru Labはオーストラリアから北海道に移住してきたイタリア人のManoloと日本人のAsakoが2018年に小樽にオープンした小さな輸入ワインと食品のお店です。
当初は事務所兼販売所とオンラインショップだけではじめたお店でしたが、昨年2020年9月に小樽の色内に古い蔵をセラーにしたワインショップとしてついに実店舗もオープンしました。
この古い蔵は建物の中から入ることができ、初めてこの場所を見た時にManoloが”Love at first sight!"と表現した、まるでワインセラーになるために存在しているかのような石蔵！私たちが一目で気に入った運命の出会いの建物でした。
ここTaru Lab Wine ShopではManoloの出身地、サルデーニャという地中海に浮かぶ島で作られている希少なクラフトワインやリキュール、その他オーガニックのオリーブやオリーブオイルなどを現地の生産者から直接買い付け、全て自分たちで直輸入、販売しています。
日本語、英語、イタリア語の飛び交うインターナショナルな店内ではTaru Lab輸入のワインやリキュールをグラスで飲むことや、生ハムや美味しいおつまみなども一緒にお楽しみいただけます。
今はコロナ禍でなかなか実現できずにいますが、Taru Labオープン当初から好評をいただいているカジュアルで楽しいTaru Labワイン会をはじめ、食やカルチャーイベントなど、ワインを通したLab(ラボラトリー）としての空間づくりも目指しています。
ブログ 「Letters from the Cellar」ではTaru Labでの日々の出来事、Taru Lab誕生物語やサルデーニャの生産者やワインの話、サルデーニャの文化などなど、色々な楽しいためになるテーマで、友達に手紙を書いているような気持ちでお伝えできればと思っています。

Letters from the Cellar #1
Warm greetings from Hokkaido!
Days are fairly cold in the north of Japan as February approaches. No surprise there!
Some of you may already know us, but for those who don’t, which of course are the overwhelming majority, let us give you a small introduction about Taru Lab.
In 2018 we, a Japanese (Asako) and an Italian from the island of Sardinia (Manolo), moved to Japan after 13 years in Australia and established Taru Lab, a small wine importing business in Otaru, Hokkaido.
It started as an home based business, which then led in September 2020 to the opening of our Wine Shop in Ironai, Otaru.
We fell in love with the venue as soon as we stepped in. The old stone house attached to the building looked like created to be a wine cellar...and so it became one.
Wines, liqueurs as a well as olive oil and other beautiful food made their way directly from Sardinia to become part of our offer to visitors from all over Japan.
Wine and liqueurs, along with the story of their producers, can be also enjoyed by the glass at our Cellar and Cafe space in an international environment where Japanese, English and Italian languages can be heard everyday.
